TCO (Total Cost of Ownership)

Also: total cost of ownership

TCO is the all-in lifetime cost of running compute — hardware capex, power, cooling, networking, and operations — amortized over the asset’s useful life. It is what makes "cheap per hour" and "cheap to own" diverge, and it is the honest basis for comparing hosted, reserved, and owned options.
